About me
I’m Victor. These are the main things I dedicate my life to, in no particular order:
- Enjoying family life and nature in rural Asturias (northern Spain)
- Developing digital products
- Training for Ultra Trail Races at an elite level
- Surfing, music, literature
I grew up in Barcelona, but have spent a lot of time traveling and living abroad. Here’s a quick timeline:
1988 · Born in Barcelona
1998 · Started running
2006 · Computer Engineering in UPC Barcelona
2010 · Berlin for 1 year
2013 · Moved to San Francisco, California
2014 · First ultra trail
2015 · Lived in a camper van for a year. USA, Canada, Mexico
2016 · Got diagnosed with ulcerative colitis. Moved back to Barcelona
2020 · First kid born. Joined a professional running team (Buff Pro Team).
2021 · Bought an old housebarn in Asturias, Spain. Got married. Ulcerative colitis receded.
2022 · Lived in Florianopolis, Brazil and Argentina. Back to Barcelona. Second kid born
2023 · Moved to Asturias to raise our kids close to nature
I am married to Eva and we have a boy and a girl. We live in rural Asturias in an old housebarn we are restoring and converting into a farm and rural stay.
I’m interested in alternative lifestyles and optimizing for flexibility, and that’s been my main driver for key life decisions. I’ve lived in 4 different cities and in a camper van, and I’ve had many multi-month stays: Indonesia, Brazil, Italy… Eva and I have worked 100% remotely since 2015. We have an agreement to not take any job that ties us to a single place, so we can stay flexible. I doubt Asturias will be our last home.
I’m a very active and curious person with many physical and intellectual interests, which I try to learn and pursue. I struggle to do all the things I’d like to in the way I want, sometimes I am blocked by the incapacity to doing them well. That’s affected by the fact that I’m also trying to be a dedicated father, professional engineer, and elite athlete and my free time is very limited…I’m learning. Some of these things are: running, surfing, poetry writing, record digging and DJing, music production, raving, spearfishing, freediving, ski mountaineering, carpentry, cooking, cider-making…
I’m trying to become a producer more than a consumer. I feel this was part of my personality in my teens and early twenties and I’ve lost it a bit due to work, kids, training, and social networks. I read and learn a lot, but don’t put it to practice as much as I’d like to.
I speak Catalan to my mother and Spanish to my father. I feel Catalan but dislike nationalisms of any color.
Work
I build digital products and businesses. I approach product development from a user-centric perspective, but also taking business variables into account. I work on ideation, prototyping, design, full stack development and product management. I studied Computer Engineering and Design Thinking.
Now
I’m exploring and open to new opportunities. Looking to build my own product or service. Not looking for a full time position, but open to contract work or collaborations.
